A fashion event
For QUESTIONE DI PELLE, Spazio Lineapelle hosted leather clothing and accessories by Gianfranco Ferrè and 16 other designers.
A cultural event
QUESTIONE DI PELLE aimed to tell the story of leather’s beauty, versatility and sustainability, emphasising its ability to arouse emotions.
FASHION, DESIGN, SUSTAINABILITY
The setting up of QUESTIONE DI PELLE enhanced the interior of SPAZIO LINEAPELLE and the new atmospheric area of Piazza Tomasi di Lampedusa.
Uniqueness and circularity
Questione di Pelle (Leather Matters) is the exhibition project hosted at Spazio Lineapelle in February 2020, in conjunction with Milan Fashion Week and Lineapelle (Fieramilano Rho, 19-21 February), the sector’s most important international event that attracts over 60,000 operators twice a year.
Absolute protagonist: leather with its intrinsic circularity. Curated by journalist Mariella Milani, under the artistic direction of Simone Guidarelli and in collaboration with Italents, Questione di Pelle showcased unique pieces by a master of styles such as Gianfranco Ferré and creations by well-known designers of the present day. The leather used in fashion represents a byproduct of the food industry, otherwise destined for the dump or incinerator. It is precisely from this waste that an asset considered precious for the made-in-Italy industry is born, and transformed into a material with high added value.
QUESTIONE DI PELLE, therefore, wanted to be an opportunity to increase knowledge and awareness of the handcrafted, innovative, creative and sustainable value of this material.
Exterior and interior
For QUESTIONE DI PELLE, Spazio Lineapelle hosted some of Gianfranco Ferré’s creations, kindly donated by the Gianfranco Ferré Foundation, and garments by designers Bozart, Cecilio Castrillo, Alessandro Dell’Acqua, Mario Dice, Diego Dolcini, Ely.B, Massimiliano Giornetti, Simone Guidarelli, Mani del Sud, Antonio Marras, Italo Marseglia, Simone Marulli, Sermoneta, Ventaglidautore, Vivetta and Alessandra Zanaria.
For the vernissage, press and guests – by invitation only – were welcomed in a square entirely set up and illuminated thanks to the collaboration with Privitera Eventi. To celebrate the event, inside the elegant La Fenice outdoor structure, Privitera’s flagship, all the furnishings, part of the GEO line, were specially made with leather supplied by Lineapelle and the result of the creative collaboration between Privitera and Simone Guidarelli.
