SNEAKER OBSESSION

What has, by now, become a true obsession found at Spazio Lineapelle, during the September 2022 edition of the Lineapelle Designers Edition, its own particular and stimulating declination. Spazio Lineapelle, in fact, was the stage for ‘Grey Area: A Lesson in Customisation’, the presentation of the new collection by Theheyyman, a collective of artisan designers from Los Angeles. As they explain, ‘we take the wildest ideas of consumers and materialise them in the form of wearable works of art’. To achieve this, they have chosen as their reference product the footwear that for years now has generated incredible hype across all age and income brackets: the sneaker.

CUSTOMISED WISHES

The exhibition set-up inside Spazio Lineapelle made it possible to highlight all the pluses of the Theheyman project. For example, the extreme attention to detail combined with an unbridled passion for streetstyle, sneaker and leather. But also, and perhaps above all, the ability to satisfy the most exclusive customisation desires linked to this type of footwear. “We are not only designers who express concepts; we are also shoe craftsmen. What sets us apart is that we know the process of creating the product, not just the design,’ says Nicholas Avery, founder of Theheyyman, together with Gustavo Servin. A unique project housed in an equally unique and exclusive space.
